In general

After months of wait and bundle of senseless free promotions, finally the time arrived to witness padmaavat.
Padmaavat is a biography genre movie about Rani Padmaavati setup in the period of  13th century.
This real-life story has been presented with tons of hard work and professionalism which is a treat to experience.

In brief

It is really hard to explain a movie like padmaavat in words, be the cast, making, music everything will leave you spellbound. Indian cinema has experienced many genres while padmaavat is something new and fresh.
The movie travels in its own phase and if you don't sync with it then you will face many restless moments and yawns. If you welcome some quality well-made flick then padmaavat will Sureshot impress you but if you cant sit patiently and travel with the story you will get bored for sure.
Though the movie is dubbed in many languages try watching in Hindi ( with subtitles if you cant understand hindi ) to experience the music and song depth which plays the vital role in carrying the story.

Nailed

* There was a question after Bajirao mastani "Can Sanjay Leela Bhansali make a movie epic than this?'" and he has answered that with double strong yes. The way he has sketched the character and built the scenes makes him to stand apart from other filmmakers. The intensity of his music which levitates scenes very well also plays a very big positive role.

* There is nothing new to say about the epic performance of the leading characters in Bhansali movie.
Understanding the importance of the character  Deepika Padukone, Shahid Kapoor, Ranveer Singh and all have performed to the fullest.
Even some small expressions by Deepika is flawless.

*Cinematography by Sudeep Chatterjee is a perfect eye wonder. The grandeur looks still more blissful through the lens.

*Technical team and the art department have done their best and you can see on the screen that no single penny been wasted unwantedly.

Failed

* Bhansali will usually sweep away with his dialogues but in padmaavat dialogues looked less impactful.

*There are some scenes which would have been better if it is trimmed. Few scenes in the first half were dragged that affected the film's pace.

*Unwanted song placements made the wholesome cinematic experience incomplete, though the songs where good the placement was miserable.

On the whole

Padmaavat is a grandeur attempt and product, which will leave you astonished.

Rating - 4 / 5
